step 14.
the fauna
and what role they might have played in the happenings
17 of January 2020
Prague
this is a very long step.
Starts with a correspondence with S
and with a picture she draw of M:

the animals I found:
1. pigeons

2. the gulls, living on the river
this record, I took on Charles Bridge, about 3 minutes before I found the wallet (I forgot about it (!!) until S brought up this animal subject.)

THE QUESTIONS THIS RECORD BRINGS UP:
- There's a chance that M actually walked by me while I was recording (facing the river)
- There's a chance that he/she actually appears in the record, the sound of his/her footsteps, his/her breath, a laughter in the background.
+ If I hadn't stopped on my way, to record this, I would have arrived 3 minutes earlier to the spot, which could have meant that the wallet hadn't been there yet.
3. peacocks

(although the park, where they live closes around four, and I found the wallet at 19:40 so what did M do in the remaining time, if he/she visited the peacocks that day? I don't really see how the peacocks might have influenced the happenings.

although!
There is a metal peacock-thing on one of the nearby houses:
a nice coincidence
or I could make up a big peacock-conspiracy theory here.
if I wanted to.
4. other kinds of pigeons

Normally I should have paid for taking a photo of them I think. But actually, I didn't take a photo of the pigeons, but of the man and his daughter taking a photo with the pigeons and they didn't ask for any money.
Also, they didn't notice me photographing them because they were too occupied with the pigeons.
I should really really look up the public place ethics in the Czech Republic.
5. dogs

What to say? Prague is full of them.
I'd love to have one. I'd love to find a puppy on the street one day, belonging to no one, that I could take home, and live happily ever after.
It is possible that something like this happened:
- M was attacked by a dog, so he/she dropped the wallet.
- M met with a lovely dog so he/she leaned down to pet it, and in the meanwhile, he/she dropped the wallet
- M dropped the wallet, for some totally not dog-related reason, and a dog found it, and brought it here, to this spot.
6. other kinds of animals

maybe M stopped to admire them.
They are very admirable.
7. cats
no cats.
the absence of cats in Prague is almost suspicious.
The only way I saw cats in the past four months was on zoom. No, I actually saw a cat twice, behind windows. (one in Holesovice and one in the house right opposite my window.) But never on the street.
